Psalm 59:10
“My God, with His loving kindness, will
come to meet me…”
To some of us, there often comes a time when we get a
sense of the vastness of things and of our own insignificance, which can be a
shaking thing. It can even shake our faith in whats the truth- that our Father showers
with compassion even the fall of a single sparrow. (Matthew 10:29). To me one
of the many proofs given to us is right in the Word of God. To me this shows
how God’s hand is behind and is with and throughout my life just like He was
with the people we read about in the Bible. The Bible can touch the untouchable
by the power of the Holy Spirit and the willingness to separate one’s self from
the world and set our eyes on the cross. The fear of being so insignificant
suddenly becomes forgotten and you start to feel this overwhelming amount of
love poring all over you. Unconsciously, His Word meets this fear and answers
it- not always by a direct statement, but often by giving a simple, loving
little story. John for instance looking through the thin veil of time into
eternity, saw His Lord- the Lord he had seen pierced- now holding in His hand
seven stars. John declares: “I fell at His feet as though dead.” Just as though
this fallen one mattered more than the seven stars, as though there were no
stars- “He placed His right hand upon me…” (Revelation 1:16-17). HE COMFORTS.
He lays His right hand on the soul wounded by weariness, or fear, or any kind
of weakness at all. All the feels suddenly change when you take yourself off
that pedestal and pick up your matt and walk.
“Be strong and courageous” (Joshua 1:6). Knowing who is laying the path
in front of you and who never left you behind.
